   Altar Guild

The Altar Guild of Our Lady of Sorrows Church is comprised of several dedicated and hard-working women of our parish. Our organization is about fellowship, commitment, sharing and, at times, some hard work.

Our primary responsibility is the cleaning and maintaining of our beautiful Altar. (Somewhere along the way, the cleaning of the body of the Church was added to our duties). Cleaning teams sign up to handle this work. Everyone pitches in to vacuum, dust, straighten and replenish candles and holy water fonts, etc. to help make our Altar and Church shine again for another week.

In addition to this, the Altar Guild has numerous other functions and Committees such as: Weddings, Making and selling of Ravioli, Altar Linens, Flowers, Candles for the Altar, Cards to the Sick, etc. and also Eaglefest. During Eaglefest the Altar Guild "man's" the cafeteria serving our delicious ravioli meals along with other menu items for the lunch and dinner crowds as well as many take-out orders. The money raised from our ravioli sales has purchased carpet for the Church, sponsored scholarships at Our Lady of Sorrows' School, funded many projects and helped achieve many other worthwhile projects for our Church and School.

The Altar Guild meets the first Saturday of every month (excluding July) at 9:00 am. We usually attend the 8:15 am Mass to share in the Word and Eucharist before beginning the meeting (which is usually held in the School Cafeteria).

The Altar Guild is open to all women of our parish, both young and old alike. We welcome each and every one of you.

Please call the Parish office for contact information.
